Volunteer now for The Late Shows 2019

We are looking for friendly faces to support the Late Shows this May, for the 13th edition of the the North East’s late-night culture crawl. Applications are now available to volunteer as a steward on the evenings of Friday 17 and Saturday 18 May.

The Late Shows is a free annual festival, which in previous years has had over 60 day-time arts, culture and heritage attractions on Tyneside open late into the evening to offer special cultural activities.

Over the two-night event, visitors have a huge choice of exhibitions, open studios, workshops, behind-the-scenes tours, music, dance, theatre, heritage, food, drink and all sorts of other fun and cultural activities to choose from.

Bill Griffiths, Head of Programmes at Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums and Project Manager of The Late Shows, said:

“Our volunteer stewards are absolutely crucial to the success of the Late Shows. They provide a friendly presence and help visitors navigate their way around the event.

“Volunteering at The Late Shows is a fantastic way to get involved with arts and culture and gain new skills, experience and confidence. It is also lots of fun!”

Tasks that will be expected for The Late Shows volunteer stewards will include; meeting and greeting visitors, handing out programmes and Late Shows giveaways, answering visitor enquiries, providing directions to venues and bus stops, and advising visitors about other venues that they may enjoy.

If you're aged 18 or over and fancy being part of The Late Shows, you can find out more and apply here.
