The Late Shows revealed as a finalist in the Journal Culture Awards 2017

The Late Shows has been revealed as a finalist in this year’s Journal Culture Awards following 2016’s tenth anniversary event.

We join our friends from BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and Vane Gallery in the final shortlist for the category ‘Best Event Tyneside’.

The Late Shows 2016 saw bumper attendance figures across a record number of participating venues, showcasing the best of NewcastleGateshead’s cultural scene.

Bill Griffiths, Project Manager of The Late Shows, said:

“We’re very pleased and honoured to have made the final shortlist for the Best Event Tyneside award. We’re alongside two other fantastic events and it’s a privilege for us to be recognised as one of the area’s best cultural events.

“Scores of people at venues across NewcastleGateshead work incredibly hard to make the event a success and we’d like to thank everyone who has been involved, from organisers and volunteers to our visitors and supporters. This nomination shows what a credit they all are to the region’s thriving cultural scene.”

We’re now very excited to attend the awards ceremony at Hexham Abbey on Thursday 11 May and have our fingers and toes crossed that we can win the overall prize.

The Late Shows 2017 takes place on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 May 2017. Line-up details will be announced in early April.
