The Biscuit Factory is the UK’s largest independent contemporary art, craft & design gallery set in the heart of Newcastle’s cultural quarter. Housed in a former Victorian warehouse, our beautiful gallery spaces are set over two floors, displaying a range of contemporary fine art, sculpture, original prints and jewellery, quality craftsmanship and design led homewares from over 200 artists every season.

8. Folk Stories

With a nod to folk traditions, gather for an evening of art, music and words; celebrating storytelling, the land and communal experience. Featuring Mercury Music Prize nominated singer and songwriter, novelist and artist, Kathryn Williams, launches a collection of miniature portraits and will sing from her back catalogue, with other spoken word, acoustic and acapella music performances across the night.
Taking inspiration from the quiet still lives featured in headline artist Jo Sharpes exhibition, join the artist for wild flower slow sketching, add a line to a community poem with the roaming Door to Door Poet, enjoy book recommendations from The Book Hus and slow down with craft beers, natural wines and local food.
