Louise Goult is a textile artist and tutor, creating research based, textile artwork that narrates hidden stories and memories, protecting and honouring them through stitch. By exploring connections to identity, people, personality and changing personas her work uses deconstruction and reconstruction techniques to tell the quirky, often overlooked stories and facts, re-building pieces much as a story is told and retold. Louise teaches workshops and leads community arts projects across the UK. BottleWorks is a popup space available for short-term occupancy, located on Riverside Walk in the lively and popular Lower Ouseburn Valley conservation area It is especially suited to local artists, crafters, makers, photographers and other creators to showcase and sell their work in a boutique modern art gallery space, The name BottleWorks was inspired by the adjacent former Liddle-Henzell Ouseburn glass works site, manufacturing bottles between the 1880s and the 1920s, of which only the furnace arches currently survive.
