Pearl Primus, OMOWALE (child returned home)
In the 1940s, African American dancer Pearl Primus transformed the landscape of American and African dance with powerful protest dances. In celebration of this remarkable choreographer, pioneer and activist; artist Theresa Poulton presents a large-scale, text-based, polychromatic painting influenced by African style geometric prints.
