Discover the often untold stories of brilliant and resilient people of African heritage and their roles in North East past, present and future. The African Lives Project works to encourage an appreciation of the African contribution to the North East. It is a voluntary unfunded community group which has produced written resources and an interactive live and online walk of Newcastle City Centre.

Take a short walk to explore African lives in Newcastle e.g. Ida B. Wells, Muhammad Ali, Ira Alridge, Ellen Craft, Henry Box Brownon one walk and Martin Luther King Jr on the other., led by an experienced guide. Every half hour between 6-8.30pm.
