Be sure to pop into Newcastle Central Station as part of your Late Shows journey and check out FLUX, a digital artwork by Newcastle based studio, NOVAK, featuring sound design by Ed Carter and Tim Shaw. It generates real time visual and sonic representations of live data captured from Newcastle University’s Urban Observatory and is presented on a large, monolithic-like LED screen, located in the entrance concourse of the station. ‘FLUX’ is a development of an artwork originally commissioned by Google Design and It’s Nice That. Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. Venue support from LNER. LED screen and technical support from ArtAV.
