Allenheads Contemporary Arts @ Newcastle University

Established in 1994 by Alan Smith and Helen Ratcliffe Allenheads Contemporary Arts works from an old Victorian Schoolhouse situated on a steep hill overlooking the village of Allenheads in Northumberland. ACA also have an exhibition/studio space in the centre of the village in the old village post office and shop. ACAshop is primarily used as an open studio and exhibition space, it has housed performances, workshops and symposia. Working with regional and international artists through their early careers and beyond by providing placement, residency and exhibition opportunities.

ACA presents an installation of work created by artists participating in its current project CONTINUUM: exploring and traversing a bridge between art and science. Artists include students from Newcastle University’s Fine Art department as well as artists from across the UK who have been working in residence at Allenheads Contemporary Arts (ACA) on this exciting project.
