A fine example of 16th and 17th century Jacobean domestic architecture with an incredibly rich history. The site is managed by English Heritage. The beautiful Jacobean public rooms in Bessie Surtees House will be open with a rare opportunity to tour some of the private rooms. There will be a post war public art exhibition ‘Out There’, due to end soon, as well as the wonderful band The Rockafellas providing live music throughout the evening. The tours will take place at 7:15-8pm, 8:15-9pm and 9:15-10pm. TICKETS FOR THESE TOURS ARE NOW SOLD OUT. The tours are limited to 15 people and must begin promptly.
Although the public rooms and exhibition are inaccessible for people who can’t manage stairs, there will be accessibility resources available at on the ground floor reception.
