Abject gallery is pleased to announce, Nathalie Daoust’s latest project, Tokyo Hotel Story, alongside a karaoke brothel. For this exhibition Daoust continues her exploration of female sexuality and gender stereotypes. Spending several months in the Alpha In, one of the biggest S&M “love hotels” in Japan. Daoust photographed 39 women in their private rooms, surrounded by the specialist equipment and dressed in the regalia that help to define their trade.

The rest of the Bamburgh House building will also have its doors open to members of the public to showcase the unique and eclectic range of creative practitioners housed within their creative workspace studios. Audiences are invited to wonder around the building and enjoy what members have to offer.
