The oldest and largest studio group in the North East. 36 Lime Street studios are situated in the heart of Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley to the east of the city centre. Formerly a flax mill, the building is now home to over 50 artists, makers and designers across five floors.

1. Event at 36 Lime Street

Artists and makers from 36 Lime Street Studios open their doors to give a glimpse of their working life and to offer the chance to buy original artworks created within this iconic Ouseburn location. In the gallery Bethan Maddocks and Maria Sears present Paper Jungle, a growing, glowing paper-cut jungle that visitors can add to throughout Friday. Theresa Easton will run a drop-in printed poster session and there will be glassmaking demonstrations from Sue Woolhouse. Steve Luck will perform Pitch Black Piano recitals every half hour from 7:15pm and She-choir will be performing in studio 1E at 7pm.
