Dunston Staiths is the last remaining staith on the Tyne – large structures built to transfer coal from trains to collier ships. After its closure in 1980, Dunston Staiths has become a haven for local wildlife and is part of the Tyne Derwent Way, celebrating local heritage, arts, and culture.

From 6-8pm at the Staiths Café (1 Autumn Drive, NE8 2BZ) join Beccy Owen’s Pop-up Choir to rehearse Songs of the Southbank, culminating in a performance on the Staiths. Limited choir places can be booked via popupchoirs@gmail.com.
Finally, as darkness falls, Projected Image will bathe the Staiths in colour, pattern and movement with a very special light show.
